The Difference Between “Fixing” and “Patching”

Have you changed your blog url or home in Settings/General and it no longer works?
Are you moving your blog to a new server/web-address?
If you answer “Yes” to either of those questions, then you need to know the difference between patching your blog to get it working and fixing your blog so that it continues to work.
